Jefferson Hayman specializes in working with traditional silver gelatin, platinum or pigment print photographic techniques, harking back to the early days of photography. He combines these techniques with his experience hand making custom picture frames to create one of a kind works of art. His minimalist framed photographic works explore the themes of nostalgia, symbolism, and memory.

The finished photographic prints are framed in found antique frames or meticulously custom hand made frames by Hayman himself, creating a unique work with its own story and personality.

Hayman's work can be found in numerous private and public collections, such as the Museum of Modern Art Library, the Boston Athenaeum, the New York Public Library, singer/songwriter Sir Elton John, actor Robert DeNiro, to name only a few.

In 2015 Hayman was awarded the prestigious Pollock Krasner grant.
