Helen Frank was born in 1930 and is well known for her artistic watercolors and etchings. She is also a master printmaker and artist working in copperplate etching, oil on canvas, oil and pastel on paper, ink, and collage.
Frank's art captures the motion and essence of cultural and daily life in New York City as well as depicting the carnival-like atmosphere of the New Jersey shore and boardwalks. She finds the sublime in the everyday and the extraordinary within even the most ordinary.
Frank was educated at Yale, Cooper Union, the New York School for Social Research, and the Tyler School of Fine Arts at Temple University.
Her work appears in art galleries and collections of the New York Public Library, the Library of Congress, Museum of Modern Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, American Museum of Immigration, and many other locations and galleries. Frank was educated at Yale, Cooper Union, the New York School for Social Research, and the Tyler School of Fine Arts at Temple.
Frank’s recently donated over a thousand watercolor prints, monotypes, and etchings created over a span of seventy years to Lafayette College.
