Eleanore Berman was born in New York City in 1928 and as a child would sketch flowers, landscapes, and architectural elements in Central Park. She would continue this love of art and nature for the rest of her life.

She received a BA at UCLA, studied painting with Josef Albers and sculpture with Ossip Zadkine at Black Mountain College in North Carolina, painting with Fernand Leger in Paris, and painting with Manfred Schwartz and printmaking with Robert Blackburn in New York.

Berman’s marriages to arts patron Frederick M. Nicholas and musician Henri Lazarof both ended in divorce.

Berman exhibited her work in galleries and paintings worldwide.

She died in Beverly Hills, CA in 2004.
